Tournament update
Anna Brazhnikova is back in Sweden after two tournament sessions in the south of Europe. These two sessions proved to be very useful since Anna has played a lot of matches and is now well into the spring season.
During the first session Anna played two hard court tournaments in the Spanish Canary Islands. The first tournament was a 10,000$ Women’s ITF on the island of Teneriffe where Anna won the first two qualifying rounds. Unfortunately Anna lost in the final qualifying round and spent the rest of the week training with her accompanying coach, Johan Hedsberg, from Swedish Tennis Federation. The following week Anna won her first match but lost her next match 4-6 in the decisive set.
Next up was three 10,000$ Women’s ITF hard court tournaments in Antalya, Turkey, and Anna Brazhnikova was there with her coach Magnus Mathisen. The conditions were good and this Turkish holiday resort offered typical warm spring weather.

In the first week Anna played solid, winning all her three qualifying matches and losing only one set. In the main draw Anna won her first two matches in straight sets before going out in the quarterfinal.

The following week Anna made it through the 1st and 2nd round in the qualifying draw before losing the 3rd round 7-6(4) in the 2nd set.

13-19 April 2009 - $10,000 Antalya-Belek 2009
After the extra couple of days of rest and practice Anna was looking forward the 3rd and final tournament in Antalya. Anna won all three qualifying matches losing only one set. The next match against British girl Natasha Kahn Anna won 6-2 6-4. In the second round Anna faced the 2nd seed Pemra Ozgen, a local Turkish girl, where Anna won in straight sets 6-4 6-1. Unfortunately Anna lost the quarterfinal to the 6th seed Hanne Skak Jensen 4-6 1-6.
