Womens Cup - Anna is through to the 2nd round
Anna Brazhnikova defeated Tereza Mrdeza from Croatia in the first round of the $25,000 Womens Cup in Kristinehamn, Sweden.
The match offered some nerve wracking moments when Anna Brazhnikova eventually won the match in 6-3 4-6 7-6 (4).
Anna received the home crowd’s support during this evening match and the players delivered some tough rallies. Anna moved quickly on the court and managed to get ahead of the Croatian at several occasions but the Croatian Mrdeza made the match level too often. Both Anna and Mrdeza offered some thrilling and entertaining rallies for the Kristinehamn crowd.
In the decisive game Anna won an important point after a long rally from the baseline which caught the net and the edge of the line. After that it was difficult for the Croation to get back the momentum for the final two points.
